Sachin Tendulkar was named the captain for Mumbai Indians for the upcoming Indian Premier League which will start on April 3, 2013. Harbhajan Singh who took the captaincy from Sachin after 2011 IPL will hand it back to Sachin for the sixth season.

With this announcement, speculations of Ricky Ponting or Clarke being the Mumbai Indian captain was put to rest.
