Today in the 11th match of Pepsi IPL 2014, Kolkata Knight Riders were asked to bat first by RCB. The decision of RCB showed instant result as KKR captain Gautam Gambhir was out for a duck when the team score was just 1. Manish Pandey was the next to fall leaving KKR struggling at 10/2 in 1.2 overs. J Kallis and Chris Lynn then got into a good partnership and took the team score to 90 in 11.3 overs but then a double strike by Aaron left KKR struggling at 90/4 in 11.5 overs. Soon Kallis also got out and the team started to look a bit shaky. Finally KKR managed to post a total of 150/7 in their respective 20 overs.

Royal Challengers Bangalore needed 151 to win their third consecutive match and their openers gave them a perfect start. Parthiv Patel and Yogesh Takawale added 67 runs for the first wicket stand. Both the openers got out when the team score was 67 which brought Yuvraj Singh and Virat Kohli on to the crease. The duo played with ease and took the score past 100. Virat Kohli scored 31 before being bowled by a beauty from S Narine. Soon Yuvraj too got out after 31 and the match was very interestingly poised as RCB needed 9 off the last over. A Morkel and AB de Villers then needed to take their team towards victory but a stunning catch by Lynn sent AB de Villers back and RCB still needed 6 to win off 2 balls. Morkel too 2 off the penultimate ball and thus RCB needed 4 to win off the last ball. A Morkel then failed to score the boundary and thus Kolkata Knight Riders won the match by 2 Runs
