Delhi Daredevils won the toss and decided to bat first. Sehwag and Warner opened the innings for them and got to a decent start. The first wicket partnership of 41 ended when Sehwag was bowled by Mithun. Gambhir was also run out cheaply and Delhi were 52/2 in 5.4 overs. Warner then played some superb shots and hit few sixes before he was caught by Kohli near the fence. Soon Karthik also got out and the team was down at 90/4 in 10.3 overs. But then Collingwood took the charge and started hitting ball all over the park. He played some sensational shots and completed his half century. Vettori also chipped in with useful 19 and helped Delhi post a total of 184/5 in 20 overs.

Royal Challengers Bangalore opened the innings with Kallis and C White but White got out in the 4th over of the innings when the score was just 25. Chasing 185, Kallis was the one who had to shoulder the responsibility and he did scored a fifty and stood firm on one end but the middle order failed and none could support him well and thus with increasing pressure, he also got out leaving RCB in trouble at 118/5 in 15.5 overs. The chase was never easy and with the fall of Kallis it looked all over. RCB could manage only 147/9 in 20 overs and thus lost by 37 runs.
