Today in the 66th match of IPL Season 6, Rajasthan Royals won the toss and invited Mumbai to bat first. Mumbai rested injured Tendulkar and opened with Glenn Maxwell and Aditya Tare and the duo added 25 in 3.1 overs before Maxwell got out after scoring 17 balls 23. Aditya Tare and Dinesh Karthik then continued the good run and took the team score to 101. Karthik was the next to fall as he got out after scoring 21 ball 21. Aditya Tare completed his half century before getting out for 37 ball 59 but had laid a solid platform for the upcoming batsmen. Rohit Sharma and last match hero Kieron Pollard scored quickfire 14 and 17 respectively and 7 ball 15 by Harbhajan Singh helped Mumbai post a total of 166/8 in 20 overs.

Chasing 169 to win, Royals got off to the worst possible start as they lost captain Dravid in the very first over when the team score was just 5. James Faulkner and Ajinkya Rahane then took the score to 22 and then James got out after scoring 12. With this fall, Mumbai bowlers tightened the grip and got the priced wicket of man in form Ajinkya Rahane and Sanju Samson in quick succession. Royals were struggling at 28/4 in 5.4 overs and needed the magic of Stuart Binny and Shane Watson. The duo raised some hopes as they took the score past 50 but a mistimed shot by Watson lead to his fall leaving Royals at 58/5 in 9.1 overs. The required run rate kept increasing and the pressure was clearly seen on Rajasthan batsmen. Stuart Binny remained unbeaten on 37 and the cameo of 39 in 27 by Brad Hodge raised hopes but with the wicket of Hodge, it was all over for Royals and finally they fell short of total by 14 runs.

With this win, Mumbai regained the top spot in points table which they lost to Chennai after Chennai registered a win in their last encounter.
