In the 8th match of DLF – IPL, Mumbai Indians lost the toss and were invited to bat first by Harbhajan Singh. Harbhajan Singh’s decision looked some what dubious as the pitch was said to be the best for batting first. Parthiv Patel and Mathew Hayden opened the innings and they scored 34 in just 3.1 overs before Patel was out. The last match’s hero Hussey was also out cheaply giving some delight to the Mumbai Indians. But Suresh Raina came into the center and played a very responsible innings and scored quick fire 54 of 37 balls. Hayden and Raina shared a 100+ partnership which came to end with the fall of Raina. But the damage was already done. Dhoni came to the center to take the score to a new heights and played a cameo. He striked the ball to all corners in his innings of 30 runs in just 16 balls. Hayden was the next to get out by scoring 81 of just 46 balls. In this match, a new IPL record was made and that was of the maximum number of fours scored.Dhoni got out at the second last ball of the match.Badrinath was the next to come and he scored 2 runs at last ball. So Chennai Super Kings scored a total of 208/5 in 20 overs.
