In what was the most thrilling match of Indian Premier League, Knight Riders could hold the nerves and win the match against Deccan Chargers. Unlike the earlier matches which were mostly one sided, this match witnessed to many ups and downs. Kolkata Knight Riders had a poor start and were 21/3 in 4.2 overs and it looked like they would fell apart chasing that target. But Saurav Ganguly and David Hussey started to stabalise the innings with singles and doubles.The score reached 68 when Ohja bowled Ganguly and raised hopes for Deccan Chargers.
The match was poised evenly and Knight Riders needed run a ball. Mohammad Hafeez and David Hussey hit few shots to bring the climbing run rate down but Ohja came into attack and got the wicket of Hafeez. Knight Riders needed 22 runs in 20 balls and suddenly the lights went off to add more tension to the already prevailing match tension.
But the match resumed after few crucial minutes were lost. But it was decided that Duckworth method was not required.Hussey striked a huge six (86m) followed by a four to bring back the run rate and they required 8 to win from 12 balls.They took few singles and then it was Hussey who hit a six and thus Kolkata Knight Riders won the match.

In one of the most awaited matches, Kolkata Knight Riders take on Deccan Chargers on Sunday. At 4 pm local time (IST) the match started with Deccan Chargers winning the toss and deciding to bat first. The decision proved not so fruitful as they lost Venugopal Rao at 21. Captain of Deccan Chargers Laxman came to bat but didn’t lasted long. The very first ball missed the stumps by inches and after facing mere 6 balls he was out and the team was reeling at 22/2 in 4.3 overs.
Now the responsibility was on the shoulders of Australian batsmen, Symonds and Gilchrist were in the center and the run rate started to improve.But just then Murli Kartik gave the final jolt when he got rid of Adam Gilchrist.Rohit Sharma came at the center but was not able to understand the ball from Kartik and was catch out by Saha. Deccan Chargers were reduced to 58/5 with the fall of Scott Styris for 6. Hussey came for bowling and and striked in his second over by tricking Arjun Yadav.It was Sanjay Bangar and Andrew Symond who provided some much needed acceleration with some power hitting but once they perished it was almost all over for Deccan chargers. They ended on 110/10 in 18.4 overs and thus the target to chase was 111 which also looked a bit hard due to the pitch which was said to be non suitable for twenty20 format
